We are delighted to announce that we are finalists in the Yorkshire Tourist Board White Rose Awards 2007 in the category of Sustainable Tourism. Located on Northgate, two minutes from the town centre and XII Century Priory ruins, the property is a former miner’s cottage, completely refurbished to a superb quality whilst at the same time retaining original features.

Following extensive renovation work and investment we proudly achieved VisitBritain Cyclists and Walkers Welcome accreditation in September 2006. And in March 2007 were awarded with the coveted Silver Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme for excellent environmental best practices and policies.

We endeavour to provide the highest quality affordable accommodation to meet and, indeed, exceed the demands of the most discerning traveller or tourist to our beautiful part of the country. Wherever possible we use ecologically friendly products, cooperate fully with the local authority recycling scheme and also include within our welcome pack locally produced items.
