Welcome to argument cottage, named after our family. We are Guisborough’s only luxury four star, environmentally friendly, self-catering cottage accredited by VisitBritain. Situated on the Gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors in the beautiful historic market town and ancient capital of Cleveland, Guisborough. Sleeping up to four the cottage has one luxury double master bedroom and one twin bedroom and is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding coastal towns such as, Saltburn and Whitby, North Yorkshire Moors and Guisborough Forest. We also provide wireless broadband internet connection to help you keep in touch!

Centrally located on Northgate two minutes from the town centre and Gisborough 12th Century Augustinian Priory Ruins, the property is a former miners' cottage. Despite the cottage having over 130 years' history, it has been tastefully refurbished to a superb standard. Making it very much 'a home from home', as many of our guests proudly comment! Achieving a Silver Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) (see Transport Case Study) the national accreditation scheme for sustainable tourism. We were also finalists in the coveted Yorkshire Tourist Board White Rose Award in the category of Sustainable Tourism, alongside prestigious venues such as Castle Howard!

Our 'green activities' include- recycling waste, using low energy light bulbs, rainwater harvesting, using local, fair trade and ecover supplies, providing secure storage and information for those interested in cycling, walking and outdoor activities. Especially as we are on the Cleveland Way Walk. We aim to Reduce, Reuse and Recyle whenever and wherever possible.

All of our guests receive an excellent level of customer service and luxury accommodation.
